Characteristics of Roots vacuum pump
Fast startup, low power consumption, low operation and maintenance costs, large pumping speed, high efficiency, insensitive to a small amount of water vapor and dust contained in the extracted gas, large pumping rate within the pressure range of 100~1 Pa, and rapid discharge of gas. This pressure range is just between the oil sealed mechanical vacuum pump and the diffusion pump. Therefore, it is often connected in series between the diffusion pump and the oil sealed mechanical vacuum pump to increase the pumping capacity in the middle pressure range. At this time, it is also called mechanical booster pump.
Roots vacuum pump is widely used for smelting, degassing and rolling in vacuum metallurgy, as well as vacuum distillation, vacuum concentration and vacuum drying in chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries. Vacuum pump accessories are vacuum pump silencers used for noise control of vacuum pumps.
Structural characteristics
(1) There is a large pumping speed in a wide pressure range;
(2) The rotor has good geometric symmetry, so it has small vibration and stable operation. There is clearance between rotors and between rotors and shells, no lubrication, small friction loss, which can greatly reduce driving power, thus achieving higher speed;
(3) The pump cavity does not need oil sealing and lubrication, which can reduce the pollution of oil vapor to the vacuum system;
(4) There is no compression or exhaust valve in the pump chamber. Simple and compact structure, insensitive to dust and water vapor in the extracted gas;
(5) The compression ratio is low, and the effect of hydrogen extraction is poor;
(6) The rotor surface is a curved cylinder with complex shape, which is difficult to process and inspect. Roots vacuum pump has developed rapidly at home and abroad in recent years. It has been widely used in smelting, petrochemical, electrical, electronic and other industries.
Maintenance of Roots vacuum pump
1. Daily inspection:
a) Oil level inspection: too much oil will raise the temperature, and too little oil will cause poor lubrication.
b) Temperature inspection: check the temperature of each part of the pump with a thermometer.
c) Motor load inspection: measure motor load with power meter or current meter and voltmeter.
2. Monthly inspection of Roots vacuum pump:
Check the coupling and gasket for damage and looseness.
3. Inspection of Roots vacuum pump every 3 months:
Whether the lubricating oil in the gearbox deteriorates.
4. Inspection of Roots vacuum pump every 6 months:
a) Whether the lubricating oil in the front cover bearing box deteriorates.
b) Check whether the piston ring and piston ring bushing are worn.
c) Whether the slight wear of the gear affects the normal operation of the rotor and whether adjustment is required.
