Causes and Treatment of Blade Wear of Roots Blower and Causes of Negative Pressure at Inlet

Roots blower concept:

It can be divided into Roots blower (including Roots blower and Roots vacuum pump), centrifugal fan (including centrifugal blower, centrifugal induced draft fan, centrifugal compressor {turbine compressor}), axial flow fan (separate high-pressure air supply is called axial flow compressor, including wind turbine generator) Mixed flow fan (one is produced by combining the characteristics of centrifugal fan and axial fan, and the other is produced by combining the characteristics of roots blower and centrifugal fan). Fan is a kind of mechanical equipment that converts gas compression and gas transmission machinery, rotating mechanical energy into gas pressure energy and kinetic energy, and conducts directional transmission of gas.

Causes and preventive measures of negative pressure at roots blower inlet:

1. The water in the water seal at the outlet of the gas frame is too high, and the gas is sealed by water;

2. The outlet valve of the gas frame is not opened or the valve core falls off;

3. The outlet pipe of the gas frame is seriously dusty and falls down, causing the pipe to be blocked;

4. The temperature drops suddenly in winter, and the condensed water in the outlet pipe of the gas frame freezes;

5. There is no air entering the furnace due to poor gas production of the gas furnace or equipment failure, such as the safety baffle cannot be opened;

6. Water accumulated in the water seal at the inlet of the gas frame or gas backflow cause a sharp drop in the pressure of the gas frame.

In case of negative pressure of roots blower, measures shall be taken to deal with the causes. First of all, the air volume should be properly reduced to avoid negative pressure at the inlet of the high-pressure machine, which may lead to a malignant accident. Then, the causes should be found out and dealt with separately, and the load should be added after the treatment is normal. Reduce the gas volume to a low level, and shut down in an emergency when necessary. When the gas system is handled normally and the gas frame has an upward trend, the exchange system should strive for time to start.

Causes and treatment methods for blade wear of Roots blower:

1. Blade unevenness

Remove the inlet silencer of Roots blower. If we find that the blade is uneven, this wear is caused by returning particles. If there are large particles in the delivered gas, it will impact the impeller of Roots blower, causing blade wear.

2. The impeller has cracks

If there are cracks or some iron chips falling off on the blade, this is caused by the long-term operation of the fan, and may also be related to the quality of the casting, which belongs to the fatigue stress damage of the fan.

3. Stripes and scratches on the blade

Stripes and scratches may be caused by solid particles inhaled by the fan, or the abrasion caused by serious mutual friction between the impellers. If the blades rub against each other and the fan makes abnormal noise, it is necessary to judge whether the impellers rub against each other, and it is also necessary to disassemble the fan for specific inspection.

4. The blade is stained

If there are some oil stains on the impeller, such as the fan conveying marsh gas, there will often be some oil gas, which will absorb some dust, resulting in smaller clearance between the blades, mutual friction, and affecting the normal operation of the fan impeller.
