What are the preparations before starting Roots blower?

Roots blower is a positive displacement fan, and the air volume conveyed is proportional to the speed. There is a small gap between the end face of the impeller and the front and rear end covers of the fan, as well as between the fan impellers. The synchronous gear drives the air from the fan inlet to the exhaust side along the inner wall of the housing.

Before starting Roots blower, the following preparations shall be made:

(1) Fully open the inlet control valve, outlet control valve and bypass pipe;

(2) Check whether the air inlet filter is unblocked and whether the filter inlet is fully opened;

(3) Check whether pipes, valves, mufflers and air filter supports are stable, and no load shall be applied to the casing;

(4) Check whether the lubricating oil is in good condition, whether the model is appropriate, whether the lubricating oil layer depth should reach 3~5cm above the specified oil line, and whether the cooling water system is unblocked;

(5) Move the coupling and check whether the impeller is flexible and free from friction and collision;

(6) Check whether all parts are well connected and loose;

(7) Remove the surrounding sundries and keep no sundries within two meters of the fan;

(8) Check whether the electrical part and the step-down starting equipment are in good condition;

(9) Check whether the maintenance tools are complete and whether the fire-fighting equipment is sufficient and complete.
