Roots Blower It is a positive displacement fan, with impeller end face, fan front and rear end covers. The principle is a rotary compressor that uses two blade rotors to make relative movement in the cylinder to compress and transport gas.

Roots blower consists of casing, wallboard, impeller, oil tank and muffler.

Casing: mainly used for supporting (wallboard, impeller, muffler) and fixing.

Wall plate: mainly used to connect the casing and the impeller, support the rotation of the impeller, and play the role of end sealing.

Impeller: It is the rotating part of the fan, which is divided into two leaves and three leaves. However, the three leaf fan has gradually replaced the two leaf fan because of its advantages such as less air pulsation, less noise, and more stable operation than the two leaf fan.

Oil tank: mainly used to store lubricating oil used to lubricate gears and bearings.

Muffler: It is used to reduce the noise caused by air flow pulsation during the inlet and outlet of Roots blower.

The disassembly of bearing generally starts from the disassembly of bearing pedestal. Usually, 2-4 process screw holes are reserved on the flange of bearing block for disassembly. When disassembling, first remove the connecting bolts between the bearing pedestal and the wallboard, then screw the screws into the process screw holes, and then the bearing pedestal can be jacked off from the wallboard junction surface. Under the drag of the bearing seat, the outer ring of the bearing moves outward and is removed together with the bearing seat. Whether the inner ring of the bearing moves with the outer ring and is also disassembled depends on the structural type of the bearing.

The disassembly method of gear, coupling and pulley is basically the same. The removal sequence is to remove fasteners such as round nuts and thrust washers first, and then pull out the gear. When pulling out the gear, in order to prevent the gear from rotating with the screw rod, a ball of cloth strip or cotton yarn can be inserted at the tooth joint of the synchronous gear. At the same time, to prevent the gear from falling off the shaft, round nuts can be left on the shaft when pulling the wheel.

Roots blower has low vibration and noise due to the use of three blade rotor structure and reasonable structure at the inlet and outlet of the housing.
