What type of lubricating oil is used for Roots blower, and how often?

There are generally two kinds of lubricating oil for Roots blower, the first is 220 # medium load gear oil, and the other is ordinary butter. The lubricating oil of Roots blower with double oil tanks is only 220 # medium load gear oil. The main oil tank of Roots blower is splash lubrication, and the auxiliary oil tank is oil slinger, with the following characteristics:

Oil slinger of auxiliary oil tank:

    1. Use the fast rotating oil slinger to bring the lubricating oil to the bearing friction surface.

    2. The linear speed of oil throwing parts is generally not less than 2-3m/s.

3. The depth of the oil slinger gradually entering into the lubricating oil shall be limited to not causing excessive oil splash, and generally it shall be subject to no oil accumulation in the bearing.

Splash lubrication of main oil tank gear:

    1. Immerse the gear in the oil and stir the oil with the top of the gear to make the oil drop splash on the whole tooth surface.

    2. The oil level shall be proper. If it is too low, the oil will not splash. If it is too high, the stirring resistance will increase and the oil temperature will rise. Generally, the lower half of the tooth profile can be immersed in oil to make the oil surface near the gear reference circle.

Of course, Roots blower has oil pump lubrication, grease lubrication and other lubrication methods, which have been gradually eliminated due to the uneconomical characteristics.
