The gear in Roots blower has two main functions, one is to transmit power and make two impellers rotate synchronously; Another function is to ensure that the clearance between the two impellers can make the impeller rotate continuously and efficiently. The continuous and efficient synchronous rotation of the two impellers is the premise for the Roots blower to complete the task. Therefore, if the gear fails, the Roots blower will fail.
It can be seen from the structural diagram of Roots blower that there are two pairs of bearings on both sides of the fan impeller, and the gear is close to the bearing on one side. The gear is not at the driving end of Roots blower. Power is transmitted from the motor at the driving end to the driving gear on the driving shaft. The driving gear drives the driven gear to rotate synchronously, and the driven gear drives the driven shaft and driven impeller to rotate synchronously. If the gear fails, the rotation of the shaft and impeller will be directly affected.
The center of the gear shaft is misaligned. The reducer big gear shaft is not concentric with the fan shaft, the reducer pinion shaft is not parallel with the motor shaft, or the two gears are not installed in parallel, which will cause the vibration of the reducer. If the deviation of misalignment is large, the gear will run unstably, causing severe vibration, and the gear surface will be severely worn; if the two gears are not parallel, the gear will run at a local "stiffening" position, which will break the gear teeth in serious cases. When the above phenomenon occurs, check the parallelism and contact surface of the two gears, and conduct the leveling and alignment of the coupling.

The clearance of each part of the gear is incorrect, including the bearing clearance, the side clearance of two gears meshing and the item clearance. These clearances must be adjusted to the required range. If the clearance is adjusted correctly, the gear will be stable and noiseless in operation; If the interstitial gland is too large, the gear will shake and hit, especially when starting; If the clearance is too small, it will cause noise, high bearing temperature and unstable operation.
Poor lubrication is also one of the reasons for premature wear of gears. If the amount of lubricating oil is too low and the gear can not shed oil, the gear surface will be worn and noise will occur; On the contrary, too much lubricating oil will increase the bearing temperature. If there are many impurities in the lubricating oil, especially hard substances such as iron filings, the tooth surface will be abraded or the gear will be broken. Therefore, the lubricating oil should be kept clean and replaced regularly.
Poor gear forging or transmission quality, improper heat treatment, rough machining quality, unstable fan in operation, etc. will reduce the gear strength or cause premature gear grinding. At this time, replace the gear with a new one or repair the gear.
I believe that after reading the above contents, you should also understand the causes of gear damage of Roots blower. I hope it will be helpful to you.
