"At present, the price of 1.5MW wind turbines in China is about 3600~3700 yuan/kW, half of the peak period," said Liu Qi, deputy general manager of Shanghai Electric Wind Power Equipment Co., Ltd.
Since 2008, the average price of 1.5MW wind turbines in China has declined at an average annual rate of 22%~23%, reaching 3900 yuan/kW at the end of 2010. It is reported that Dongfang Turbine Co., Ltd. has the lowest quotation at present, and its 1.5MW unit quotation has dropped to 3200 yuan/kW. "The so-called profits of individual wind turbine suppliers often only consider the cost of equipment procurement and manufacturing, but ignore the later service and maintenance work."

It is understood that in 2010, the newly increased installed capacity of wind power in China was nearly 20 million kilowatts, and the capacity of Sinovel, Goldwind, Dongqi, Mingyang and United Power alone exceeded the above capacity. At the same time, international wind turbine manufacturing giants such as Denmark Vestas, Spain Gomesa, and the United States GE have established production bases in China, and the competition in the wind power market is unprecedented.
In the face of the profit crisis sweeping the entire industry, the parts suppliers, as the strategic partners of the complete machine enterprises, are also in deep trouble.
Li Hui, chief technical expert of Chongqing Kekai Qianwei Wind Power Control Equipment Co., Ltd., said: "The cost pressure of complete machine enterprises will inevitably be passed on to the parts suppliers, while the upstream parts enterprises, such as the electronics market, purchase prices are basically transparent and stable, so we will bear the most pressure of price decline."
Another person in charge of the first echelon converter enterprise in China also said frankly that although the orders of enterprises increased significantly in 2011, the profit margin was declining, which can only be supported by quantity at present. Most importantly, in the long run, it will also affect the future R&D investment of enterprises.
