The two impellers rotate in opposite directions. Because the clearance between impellers and impellers, between impellers and casings, and between impellers and wallboards is very small, a vacuum state is formed at the air inlet. The air enters the air inlet chamber under the action of atmospheric pressure. Then, two of the blades of each impeller form a sealed chamber with wallboards and casings, The sealing chamber formed by two blades is constantly taken to the exhaust chamber, and because the impellers in the exhaust chamber are meshed with each other, the air between the two blades is squeezed out. In this way, the air is continuously transmitted from the air inlet to the air outlet, which is the whole working process of Roots blower.

1. The smooth flow of Roots blower and pipes must be ensured

During the maintenance of Roots blower, check the components of the air inlet pipe, the ash and oil sludge in the shell, and confirm whether the outlet parts and pipes are smooth.

2. The safety valve shall be flexible, reliable and effective

Because Roots blower is a constant volume fan, if the ventilation is not smooth, the pressure will continue to rise until the motor stops or the housing is damaged. These failures can be avoided when the safety valve opens naturally at rated pressure or at the allowable set pressure., This can ensure the safety of equipment and personnel.

3. Ensure three intervals of Roots blower

The three spacing of Roots blower are the radial spacing between rotor and shell, the spacing between rotor and rotor, and the spacing between rotor side and shell wall. Installation and maintenance shall be carried out according to the relevant maintenance manual.

4. The pin position shall be correct

Three positions of Roots blower shall be accurately determined, otherwise the operation of blower will be affected. The pins of the upper and lower shells and the pins of the gearbox are basically unchanged during maintenance, so only correct installation is required during maintenance. But the gear pair is different. When replacing the gear, first install and fix the gear with the key, then align with other gears and lock the joint surface. Check the tooth side contact with the half car. If there is no problem, re inject the hole, trim the hinge, then install the pin, and then check the accuracy of the gear contact. It's OK in good circumstances.

5. Belt installation

When installing the belt, the corresponding belt groove is on the same plane with an error of less than 1.0mm. At the same time, the belt should be properly tightened to ensure that the length of each belt is equal and the force is matched. The elastic belt of the belt should preferably be about 15mm below the belt with your thumb.
